The Angel Gabriel
04:10
|
|||
Perceive it, like an open palm
Real? Or just forced it
Finger's reading scrawled
Let him who has ears, hear an "open" word
Caught in a snare like a futile curse
Left to yourself on a pile of dirt
Each one returns to it's place of birth
Star crossed: we ascribe
As if the stars could show us inside.
I cant gaze behind your eyes
And I'm helpless not to real-I-ze
Wrestle with fate till you bruise your side.
Thorn in the flesh of sun-baked hide
Spent too much time - in the coffin of [en]light[enment]
Snakeskin arise as a turncoat guise
Gold-tongue-ed words to soon arrive
Lions will sift - through the trough of lies
Star crossed: we ascribe
As if the stars could show us inside.
I cant gaze behind your eyes
But I'm helpless not to real-I-ze
I see you reaching out,
all the while with a thorn in my side
You've played along the whispering doubts,
crying out:
Orpheus be my guide!
But what now of the hollow cage?
What now of the skeleton of Eden?
Crumbling to piles of dust!
What now of the bones we hold?
What now if we were to drop them?
Splashing, they fall in the chasm!
Hands held clean like paranoia
Once dirty as a newborn's curse!
Yielding to a will I often misread!
Silent moment with the echo aside, presiding at my wake like some ringmaster guy
Fearful moment with the rising tide, abiding at my side like the horizon'd sky
Cackles hollow as they draw nigh', riding on a broom as the black bat flys, as the black bat flys
Walking the line past the row of ferns and of course mocked I will return
And mocked I'll return, as I slowly die
As I slowly die, the dark wings hover, falsely by
As I slowly die, the three rings become the stage for life

Crumbling In Loops
04:22
|
|||
Never been the dice throwing type
But, my lots cast like an open net
Something's awry, some fishy yield
Some one will cry, some desperate feel
Sheol sheets tucked in, dew graced sheepskin, again, again
Made a bet, chips placed all in
With regret, signed, Your friend
The coughing's getting worse now
Smoker's Throat™ , a trademark.
The coffin's in the hearse now
Door shut, cold and dark.
Dull like a number 2, that bland yellow brand
Eyes stung all day
like a word in demand
Ache like an overdue tooth
But it's fine like an overdue book
Forget all the promises kept, and keep
all the words you have left- to yourself
Should I engage with some active sense of purpose?
Futile frogs lept from the creek, all forfeit
A spiel recited, robotic, times and events like clay-
Crumbling in loops, like Cheerios in breakfast soup
Tiptoe past expectations, wait till they're there (and with you)
Running water tripped, I heard a sound on the stair (Is there issue?)
Glanced in the room to the bed, left made with such care (seemingly bid adieu)
Stubborn you descended, stubborn I pretended, unfair! (and you, in need of tissues)
Should I engage with some active sense of purpose?
Futile frogs lept from the creek, all forfeit
A spiel recited, robotic, times and events like clay-
Crumbling in loops like Cheerios in breakfast soup
I do what I don't want to do
I don't do what I want to do
Lift off in a Skuballoon
As if I have something to prove
A standard born and crushing like an anvil
Self-inflicted couch-stay of a gavel
Hope of candy ringlet rescue [We are not endorsed by Lifesavers®, owned by Wrigley Jr!]
Cause I can't handle one more excuse.

Silvertongue
04:18
|
|||
I was taught to fight pug-nosed bullies
Self righteous like a picket sign
I was taught to stand for something
As long as I didn't sit down for mine
Fighting the bull as a small bronze girl
Defense quickly turns to threats
Already on top with ropes and scales
Calling the shots, taking the bets
s-s-s-s-Silvertongue,
s-s-s-silvertongue,
It's b-b-b-b-blessing and curse.
s-s-s-s -Silvertongue,
Insults can be slung in verse.
Maintaining the look of cool in the day
Hiding behind smiles at night
I drew a pocketknife to prove I was someone
Even though I knew better than to start a fight
Modeled like a glue stained balsa jet
Held together in tiny hands
Efforts to make it seem real or even something
But so it goes with pitch perfect plans
So I've let my words lash out like knives, a silver set, polished to shine
Sharper than a thoughtful cow
So if I could take back each time
By being silent now [x2]
Darker than a blood moon's glow
So if I could take back each time
By being silent now [x2]
s-s-s-s-Silvertonguee
s--s-s-silvertongue,
What fate could remain worse?
S-s-s-sSilvertongue, s-s-s-s-silvertongue,
Insults can be slung in verse.
Don't praise my efforts,
or lull to my charm
Disease on my tongue,
flys forth swarms of harm
Or could it be the fatal reverse?
My curse a gift to bring forth worth? [Near, Dallas, TX]
Laid as bricks and set in place,
no longer at a sneering face!
If I could take back each time by being silent now...
I'd probably never speak again.

Space Grab
05:05
|
|||
There I fall, embracing the ground,
As a homely estate, laying low to be found
Facing the weight of my fate.
Skinned knee, but my Band-Aids will save me
Tie the laces like trust, spin the wheels to prove hardy
Roller skates, on the brink of the ring at the rink, dropped my sign down the sink
and (re)covered her hair, oh what would the angels think?
One season at a time, just like you said
One step for each season, ground collided with tread
Help me Holy Lord, I feel the dark of earthly dread
the pull of soil to which I'm planted
With this noose around my neck
When the foggy hand crawls like a mask and the shape-
[You're] stalked and haunted at night in a seaside escape,
Hold onto the pour as it rains on drab landscapes
Alive and feeling more as the droplets take shape on my skin and spread, oh where could we be found attached to the Head or attached at the hip like a crippled freak on a sideshow stage as they speak of the horrors inside the cage of a tent where I live and I die!
When the angelic choruses raise, we, lift our voices as the tune of carols we sung, praise subtlety!
And I shudder to think that the words on my lips carry weight like the burden of grief
And you know what they'll think when they see Mercy hover over and crawl up to me, as He hung on a tree, and I've nothing left to hold dearest and close but the sigil of breath in this clay.
Pressed in with shapes and lit in the kiln to be traced back to the initial place from where it came.
Signed, sincerely Yours.
Tending the ground as garden I'm placed in,
Down in the holes through the tunnels of gravity
Lucid like stardust and soaring like comets
Tied to the Earth but floating through galaxies
Sweat from my brow, toil in the workday
Hold me now, while I call out the doomsday
Tend to the shoots and leaves in Your rescue
Cosmic Hand outstretched, along with the fresh dew
Enamored with a dark sky of realities
Lulled through the circle into the Heavenlies
Everything that I hold, dust bunnies and ashes
Focus intent on the cleanse of those lashes
The Word became dirt and took flesh on!
You are past the void!
One with totality of God in the Son
You are there!

Balm of Gilead
04:18
|

Adept, we suffer, inclined to separate, but a part of each other,
Wrought from the Big Bang Boom, but at all from my hand? Well that's another, -story.
With one foot anchored in the dirt, like our first child, neatly dispersed.
Choke back any hint of tears, tell the truth, and pull back the noose that calls you cursed.
The space of separation is where I lay
If I could get it through my head, I would be okay
My reputation's tread with teeter totter blackmail grist
Swinging kick to the gut like a skinhead hobnail, then a fist
Cause oftentimes the syrupy pull holds me in place, running still, losing the race.
Treading molasses only to float, as if a blue ribbon could bolster a boast!
I have nothing to show for it
I have nothing to show for it
- - - -
But I have something to show for it: Imputation
Blood pours over me
I can't help but let it permeate,
Run through my body like the lightning's fate
12 pins down, and pray my soul to take!
A lion tamed, whipped out of rage,
A chorus sung with ageless range,
A vanishing act like a Vegas Stage,
appearing near with unending grace
The space of separation is where I lay
If I could it through my head I would be okay
Who is man that You are mindful of him?
Who am I through the mirror dim?
Where can death be festivities?
Defer to Your "absurd" proclivity!

Never thought that I'd grapple
As a snake, who lost it's rattle
Never thought venom would infect me
and instead let it resurrect me!
Shaking hands with a cloven hoof
Makings friends, but staying aloof
Dis-empowered, known in hindsight
Feeling the hunger of the limelight
Greasy grip like a silver spoon
Prodding headache like Jason's IVth [or was it third?] harpoon!
Slick it back with a comb and a tear
Be sure to let them know what's "really" there!
Swap one mask out for another,
Was it the way that killed your mother?
Will it slay like a harvest scythe?
Will it yield like the crucified Christ?
Oh No!
Drink in the parade in a warbled glare
Gorged on the thought of a carnal fair
The finest places at all the best tables,
Feather in my cap and call it all: "The Best Fables!"
(Should've gone with macaroni instead)
Choice clothes and knapsack of [fake] news
Whoever thought I'd be the one to misuse
All the time allotted for gentile calls
With snarls and a heavy, panting maw?
Swap one mask out for another
Was it the way that killed your mother?
Will it slay like a harvest scythe?
Will it yield like the Crucified Christ?
Oh No!
~ ~
Swap one mask out for another
Was it the way that killed your mother?
Will it slay like a harvest scythe?
Will it yield like the crucified Christ?
Oh No! [ad infinitum]

3D Panoramic World Ender!
Put the glasses on, red & blue mixed lens
The Monster That Challenged Earth, paranoia never ends!
Frozen with awe, straw on your lips
Coke sipped quick with a gaze transfixed
Fearsome Tarantula crawling nigh,
Up and over the wall
The size of an Econoline [150, but not as big as a 350],
A few feet shy, spindly as it crawls
3D Panoramic World Ender!
A Galactus that swallows planets for lunch!
A dynamite fuse, Cosmic Egg or Big Crunch?
Big Bird, Bronze Bull, Old Heavens ----> New Earth
Can't stop the inevitable up until the rebirth!
Sloppily slap a band-aid on a volcano, with lava set to blow!
Nuclear brick stuck to your T-shirt, iridescent glow
Gaze upon destruction,
Silver screens a distant thought
Judgment scrolls unfold,
As prophecies foretold,
Ancient vengeance wrought
Varied plagues subdue our clay,
Swarming locust in the air
Recapitulate the caustic way,
Through nuclear warfare!
Doomsday cults with their Kool Aid, blue,
(Or was it red, as I died with you?)
Under a brimstone sky, raining true,
Halfway in the grave, but without a clue:
Wind rider weather, hell bent for leather,
Speed metal fire and the stars scream forever!
DEPROGRAM! Resolve!
DEPROGRAM! Involve!
REPROGRAM! Evolve!
REPROGRAM! Till Salt!

Thunderhog
04:49
|
|||
A storm brewed in the depths of the woods
Influx of demand and Chromeo goods
Out of the moss grew a beast made of light
Motherboard brains in a body of fright
Composed of the raging keystrokes sent,
"Well I never" 's and revenge, hellbent!
Ominous gizmos and the clicking of gears
Socialized tech skin and mechanized fears!
The rumble of thunder, the tumble inside
As hot air expands past online bon-a-fides
Microchip hymns sing to the whir of his humming
Frenetic tones and incessant drumming
The image of a beast, to sell and trade,
Thunderhog, Tech god, with teeth made of blades
Should he arise from the tumultuous crash
Possess those, he will, with foul, spitting trash
And Lo! Through the fog, a shape draws near!
The rumble of thunder, the tumble inside
As hot air expands past online bon-a-fides
Microchip hymns sing to the whir of his humming
Frenetic tones and incessant drumming
The image of a beast, to sell and trade,
Thunderhog, Tech god, with teeth made of blades
Should he arise from the tumultuous crash
Possess those, he will, with foul, spitting trash
Run from the tow'rs, if you have an ear to hear!
Thunderhog, [Thunderhog] in the night,
Thunderhog, Thunderhog burning bright
A threat in it's mouth and a flame in its mind
Thunderhog, Thunderhog, it's almost time!
And it rose from the depths of the fog as hot breath curled up from it's snout!
Not a gasp could I make, though it's very sight demanded a litany of shouts!
With an eye gleam, it spied me and I was frozen like a good boy should freeze, when he sees such a beast!
The Four Horsemen of the Techno-pocalypse ride!
Out of the Cloud and into a blueprint copyright sky!
Sell your privacy for a glutton-feast of ad-driven opiate foods:
Living in a death-cocoon with rippling hunchback wounds!
Beware of this beast, lest your soul, it corrupt.
And end to our dreams, death abrupt!

Easter Wings

I tried to tend the garden a few houses over
But that silly fence got in my way
Couldn't tend the garden of my lover
Repeat like a skip, like a skip, like a skip-every-day
Each plot of land bought with intent to thrive
Each spotted hand, a blight of mine
[Remembering only how it always slipped my mind]
Clipping shoots with sloppy haste
Poured the suds sod like a drunk in a haze
I'm hoping that I didn't waste
All the reasons, all the ways
Hey Adam, where are you?
Under a fig leaf, surely snug
Oh, I was naked, so I hid
I was shaken as you bid
me out from the trees and into my needs
Spreading rot like it was chicken feed
Oh the shears go click and I hope not to miss it
But severed here the fruit from the tree, and now You see
And I'll resist, it wasn't she, but me!
Tasted fruit, tar pitched as fun
(It led to)Wasted youth, scorched by the sun!
What grief abounds, what sorrows lend?
Where the wine is rich and sickness mends...
[Verse 2]
Out in the dessert for nearly 40 years...
Well it was more like 40 days!
Covered in the skin of the slain
Not without birth pangs but no longer blood stained
Bone of my bone and grass of my grass,
chained to the earth with ascending panache!
When the walls came tumbling down,
so to my wicker crown, and in death, I'm found:
Permit me then, with abled fleet,
To rise with larks in harmony,
Doubts along with surety, and sing this day, Thy Victories
I have nothing on my own
Lizard limping towards Your throne
Yet, crown bestowed with rings and robe
With sonship as our only tone
Gracious grasp, let me combine
Clinging still with my wounded plea
"For if I imp my wing on Thine
Affliction shall advance the flight in me"
Yielding as the "Conquered" One
Fruitful youth in the Eschaton!
Till the ground, the self must end
Toil? Sure; but now my friend
If affliction then is ours, such an anchoring in store!
"We are the trees whom shaking fastens more!"
